Dee C Lee - See the Day

Listening to the radio today, found this gem. I havent really read the words but have always found the tune catchy. :-))

When you look at me
tell me what you see
Do you see no love at all?
Or do you see in me what you always see
In ev'ry girl that you fall for?
I will show you how love is meant to be
Just watch and learn and listen to me.
Will you ever see the day?
Heartache leads astray
Good love will always come from me.
Will you ever learn to love without a little doubt?
Good love will always come from me.
When look away
is it mean to say
That she haunts you night and day?
And does it hurt your heart when I say:
Let's start to heal the part that's been torn?
Don't you see that I
I'm really worth a try?
And I say to you I know just what to do.
Will you ever see the day? . . .
Will you ever see the day? . . .
Will you ever see the day? . ..

California

I purchased my tickets today so i thought this song would suit for this day :-)) CALIFORNIA HERE I COME!!!

We've been on the run
Driving in the sun
Looking out for #1
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Hustlers grab your guns
Your shadow weighs a ton
Driving down the 101
California here we come
Right back where we started from
California!
Here we come!
On the stereo
Listen as we go
Nothing's gonna stop me now
California here we come
Right back where we started from
Pedal to the floor
Thinkin' of the roar
Gotta get us to the show
California here we come
Right back where we started from
California!
Here we come!

A very cool rendition of the above song done on piano. If you listen to the above video then this one, you can make your decision on how good it is. I really like this. 10/10.

LA goes Splat

So an update on my holiday plans. I got a price from Flight Centre in Myer City Centre and for the August 11th to the 30th I can fly from Melbourne to Los Angeles for $1011 and 14 cents. On top of this is Travel Insurance of $302 which covers me for 23 days with $0 excess. Overall i think this is a good price.

If i go with these dates, travel times would be leaving Melbourne Tullamarine Airport at 10.15am arriving at LA at 7.30am a flight time of 14 hours and 15 minutes.

For the Return flight, i would be leaving LA at 11.30pm on Sunday August 30 and arrive Australia on Tuesday at 7.55am a flight time of 15 hours and 25 minutes.

My Garden

Ok so i checked my garden out this morning and its growing lol which is what there meant to do. :-)) The Cauliflower and Broccoli have shot up nicely but the other crops haven't grown as much.

My strawberries haven't really grown much though. Maybe i need a bigger pot. I will see how they go in the next few weeks and if they havent changed i will upgrade to more strawberry pottage area LOL

You could be Happy

A nicer video for "You could be happy"

Song of the Day

I happened upon this song while browsing through a Coldplay collection on Last FM. I think its a beautiful but sad song. A man loves a woman so much that he wants her to be happy even without him. One line i love in particular is the very last one "Take a glorious bite out of the whole world"

You could be happy and I won't know
But you weren't happy the day I watched you go
And all the things that I wished I had not said
Are played in loops 'till it's madness in my head
Is it too late to remind you how we were
But not our last days of silence, screaming, blur
Most of what I remember makes me sure
I should have stopped you from walking out the door
You could be happy, I hope you are
You made me happier than I'd been by far
Somehow everything I own smells of you
And for the tiniest moment it's all not true
Do the things that you always wanted to
Without me there to hold you back, don't think, just do
More than anything I want to see you, girl
Take a glorious bite out of the whole world

Charlotte & I

I went to my sisters today for a barbeque lunch which turned out to be normal lunch because the gas ran out in the bottle so it was cooked inside. Here i am holding her :-))

Out My Window

This is on my way to work at Tangambalanga, a little village in Victoria of around 300 people i believe. I liked this job i worked on as it was a patch up job, quick and simple, even though i did have to work the weekend. It was an Early child care center where an elderly man had a turn for the worst sitting in his car on a 40 degree day for two hours apparently. He went to drive off and had his turn and his car kept going straight into the childcare center. Fortunately there were no kids playing in the front yard as the car hit the front door of the building. I did get to see two kookaburras sitting on the telephone pole singing, which was nice to see.

The view from the scaffold!

At work and playing around on the scaffold i took some photos. I was nervous at first, i hadn't been up on the scaffold in a while and it takes a little while to get the balance right but once im set i can walk around carrying items without any fear. I've always had a fear of heights but i think its more of a comfort thing. I have to feel comfortable.

Ebay

So i ordered an item off of ebay "2 Battery EN-EL10+Charger+Case for Nikon S210/S520/S510" on the 2nd of June 2009 and received the items on the 10th of June which is pretty fast service all the way from Hong Kong. The item i purchased was

High Capacity 1200mAh Battery (2 pieces) for "Nikon EN-EL10/Olympus Li-42B"

+ Black Leather Case + Screen Protector (gift) + Cleaning Cloth (gift)

+ Mains Charger (US 2-pin) + Desktop Charger + Car Charger

+ free Australian Travel Adapter (gift)

This is for my Nikon S210 camera. Overall i paid $16.99 for the items and $13.99 for the freight. Overall a very good price for 2 batteries and a leather case and charger. In my local camera store, i am looking at paying around $70 for a battery for my camera. I realise these batteries aren't OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) but i'm not a millionaire either. Even if they last one photo session i'll be happy. The thing i like about them is that the charger is for the US so i can charge my batteries for my LA holiday. Very good!!!

This is how it was packaged to me. Well the envelope wasn't ripped open like that lol, Thats just my eagerness to get it open hehe.

Charlotte

So the big news this week is the birth of my niece Charlotte Elise Campion born the 12th day of June 2009. She weighed 7 lb 8 oz i believe. She wasn't as heavy as they thought. I got to hold her today, the first time i've ever held a baby. Something i can now tick off the list of things to do before i die. :-)

For a present to her i got her a Pink Teddy Bear. Pictures of me and bub will come soon enough so don't even bother asking where the photos are LOL!!

As for my sister, i am very happy for her and wish her the best of luck in raising a wonderful healthy child.

Wood Fire

Being winter, its fire time. We all love a great fire and being outside with some heat is always nice. Here is the wood heater my brother in law made himself from old car wheels. It puts out some heat. Cool hey? It now gives me something to do, find fallen timber for me to cut up and to burn to keep myself warm this winter while out in my back yard.

Oh how does my garden grow

So an update on how my garden is growing. They are surviving. My mums dog, Jessie, took the top off one of the Garlics but it has survived and is growing back. The rest are growing nicely and with the few days of rain we had and a couple of days of sunshine and they should shoot right up. :-)

These are my strawberries that i'm growing and they have shot up a bit since they were re-potted. Hopefully they will be giving us some nice fresh strawberries, yummy yummy.

First Foggy Day of Winter 2009

The weather was forecast for rain all this week. It went close. Thursday and Friday were clear days and the weekend, a long weekend was forecast for rain again. They got it wrong. I woke this morning to look out my window to see a blanket of white fog. In a way the fog is good. It means a nice beautiful day ahead. Hopefully it stays clear for the whole weekend so i can get out and about, do a bit of gardening, i have some weeds and plants to tend to and i would like to get out on the bike a bit just to turn the legs over.

Barry Manilow - Mandy

I remember all my life
Rainin' down as cold as ice
Shadows of a man
A face through a window
Cryin' in the night
The night goes into

Mornin', just another day
Happy people pass my way
Lookin' in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
How happy you made me, oh Mandy

Well, you came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
well, you kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
and I need you today. Oh, Mandy!

I'm standing on the edge of time
I've walked away when love was mine
Caught up in a world of uphill climbin'
The tears are in my mind
And nothin' is rhyming, oh Mandy

Well, you came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
well, you kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
And I need you today, oh Mandy

Yesterday's a dream
I face the mornin'
Cryin' on a breeze
The pain is callin', oh Mandy

Well, you came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
And I need you today, oh Mandy

You came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
You kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
And I need you!

Totally Given Up

Still trying to work out windows live messenger and i have just given up. Now i cant even remove the 2009 version so i am kind of stuck with it now. Oh well. So much for the glory days of Microsoft. Up until now i have been pretty happy with everything Microsoft has given me but this Live messenger thing has given me 3 days of nothing but frustration. Grrrrrr.

But i am typing this in Windows live Writer which is a pretty cool feature of Windows live so its not all bad news. A quick glance over this program and its terribly easy to update my blog. Awesome.

I also have started my list of things i need to remember to pack for my holiday. It’s not very long at the moment, but i will add to it when i have time. Please feel free to offer advice on any travel essentials.
